How to own rental property

I bought a rental house here near Atlanta,GA last year. I have a tenant and good equity in the house. When I went to refinance my main house, they looked at my W-2"s and took the expenses of my rental and deducted it from my total income. My question is, should I create a company and transfer title to it, or just keep it in my name? It seems to be wrecking me financially even though i make positive cash flow every month.
