Very new to wanting to rent out houses

Good morning everyone, 

So I have been wanting to become a landlord per se for years with little experience, but I don't have the resources or knowledge on where to begin. So Is it possible to invest in a house to rent it out? However my income is low but could it still be possible to invest? Or how should I start?
