mailing invoices ?

do most of you mail out monthly statements to tennants or is the time and expense not necessary? most tennants are aware im sure that rent is due on the first , but it seems more professional if they get a bill in the mail like they do any other bill,, it puts a concrete thing in their hands saying Pay on the first !
