How important is the school rating when buying a rental property

Hi,

I'm looking for single family rental property in the Greater Austin,TX area and was wondering how the school system ratings in that area affect rentals.  I'm not from Austin so its difficult to determine, but being a mom here in Los Angeles, I know its extremely important.

Anyone out there from the Austin Area?

Thank you,

Jonnelle

I guess it kind of depends on who you're trying to target. Families, older people, young professionals, etc. I'd say it depends on the house as well. If it's a two bedroom house, the school probably doesn't matter as much. If it's a three or four bedroom, it probably will play a bigger factor. It might be a stepping stone for a family that's trying to get into the area.
