Old Tenet Won't Sign Off of the Lease

The current problem that I am facing is that I have moved into an apartment with a friend of mine. Her old roommate moved out but is refusing to get off of the lease. The property manager knows I am the new tenant so there are no problems there. I was just wondering if there were any legal actions I could take in Ohio to force the old tenets name off of the lease?
