High Velocity Air Conditioning Systems

I recently purchased a (top/bottom) 1970's duplex house that has base board heating and is cooled via window units. I was thinking about eventually putting in a cooling system and wanted to know if anyone had experience with a high velocity system. Specifically, cost, how much of the walls were chopped up and overall satisfaction with the end product. The unit is 3bd, 1ba, and is ~900 SF.

If you happen to live in central / northern NJ, any specific contacts would be greatly appreciated.
