Any way to prevent leaking or overflowing washer damage?
I think I need to provide a washer/dryer hookup for my tenant but I am scared of the damage to the hardwood floors underneath. Is there any way to prevent damage from a leaking or overflowing washer?

I start with the best braided stainless supply hoses. Also get a quality machine for sure. I had one where the fill tube inside came unattached from the bottom of the basket, so the basket never filled to tell it to turn off. Wasn't mine, but I had to repair the flood damage.
They make pans that can go underneath to catch the first 1/2" of water. Similar to the kind that go under water heaters, like a big cookie sheet. I also like to put vinyl remnants at the back to direct water and underneath if no pan.
