Applying for a rental permit when I already have a tenant.

Will I be fine if I apply for a rental permit when I already have a tenant moved in ? I am new so I didn't know I had to apply for a permit. On the permit application it asks you if you have a tenant already or not... I m in pg county MD Please advise.
