Help finding my first property management company

Hello Biggerpockets,

I need help selecting my first property management company. My family and I will be moving across the country so please help me by providing what I should look for in a property management company and also what I should look out for so that I do not get taken advantage of! Also, please tell me an average of how much one of these companies charge. I realize that it will very with every company and in every town but any help will be greatly appreciated.
