Tenant Eviction Question

Hi, I'm recently evicting one of my tenants and I got a notice from my attorney about my tenant propounding discovery and the total cost to respond would be $1400. I know my tenant is trying to delay the eviction and they hired a firm called Eviction Defense Network, but I'm not sure what is the best course of action for me to take because the $1400 on top of the eviction cost is pretty expensive.  I'm wondering if anyone else had this experience before?
