Accidental Landlord Renting House but Morris the Cat Stays
I check Craigslist regularly to look at competitive properties in my market. I found a home for rent and thought the listing was odd. I thought I would share. This is just a portion of the listing:
"The yellow garage that matches the house has a tool shed attached, in which our indoor/outdoor cat Morris lives. It is important that you're okay with Morris hanging around! We have a heat lamp, heat pad, and heated water dish set up for him in the winter months; although he will most likely wander between our neighbor's house and this one. Preference will be given to those applicants that will let Morris inside during inclement weather."
They went on to say that a prospective tenant can only have a cat or dog friendly cat, for Morris. They also stated, "Your cat doesn't need to be declawed, I would never make you do that!" The owner is leaving town for a year and is looking for someone who wants to live there a year and is ok with Morris staying.
I love accidental landlords.
