Property managing/landlord accounting

Hi all-

I'm new to the community so I'm not sure if this is the proper way to ask questions here but I'm looking for some suggestions to handling accounting.  I've keeping track of my expenses by hand but I'm looking for a better way.  Would you suggest an account, accounting software (if so which one), or to keep doing what I'm doing?  I only have a few units but I still slip up every now and then.  All answers are welcomed.

Thanks,

Mel

I use quick books and set up each property as a class. Every entry is classed out. I can pull a class report anytime and know exactly where each property stands.
