security deposit for former prop.mgr

After 2 years , I recently was let go from the property management company I had worked for. I was the onsite property manager for the apt. I lived at. I had lived there 3 yrs prior to becoming the manager. I put down a security deposit and it has been well over the 21 days and haven't received my deposit back or even a letter or invoices regarding any repairs. In fact, my supervisor didn't even do a pre-move out walk through or even a final inspection  before collecting my keys. My question is am I still entitled to my security deposit even if I was employed with them? Can I take them to court for going over the recommended time ?
