It's good to occasionally take a balcony view look at your business model. It's also a luxury to have the time to noodle do so. 

So let me give you a head start... There are at least four different ways to hold an asset besides being a passive owner. I overview them in this article.

You see my research suggests that passive landlording is the least profitable way to manage an asset. AndI can't quite get my arms around it why this style is so popular.
