Hello,

Does anyone know a good book/guide that breaks down the steps to take when renting to a tennant?  I'm looking for something that guides you from what documents need to be signed before handing over keys.  As well as, steps when qualifying a tennant.

The guides from Kyle are great! Here is some additional info ...

What needs to be signed before handing over the keys. At a high level:

  • Security deposit
  • 1st month's rent
  • Rental agreement (lease) signed
  • Any addendum that is needed (for example, rent control ordinance in your county)

A checklist guide that I put together:
