Painting over dirty walls
I own C-grade apartment buildings. I've always bleached the walls instead of painting over the dirt/fingerprints. Bleaching is better but it is time consuming. I've always criticized those who just paint over the gunk even though it seems everyone does it. What is the harm of painting over a thin layer of non-greasy gunk during every apartment turnover?

Other than that being disgusting?
Don't let your standards slide, that is a slippery slope. Soon your apartments are less appealing and you can only get worse and worse tenants who are harder and harder on your property. It is a vicious circle. Now you own a D-grade apartment building and have just shot yourself in the foot.
Seems like you take pride in the product you provide. I would not sacrifice that. It will pay off in the long the run.
