Tenant to be deployed

I have a tenant who is in the national guard. He notified me that he will be deployed in April, but wants to maintain the apartment. I have not spoken to him - he gave me a note with the rent check - and he has not asked to be let off the rent amount.

So I have two questions:

1.) Is there any kind of gov't assistance he or I can get to supplement his rent during his deployment?

2.) Am I legally bound to reduce his rent at all?

He is a great tenant - actually pays his rent a few days ahead of time! so I have no intention of losing him. Just looking for advice or opinions/experiences of others.

Thanks in advance!

Phil
