Rental Property - Fire Alarm Installation, anything I should know

Hi, I recently updated a rental property using a non licensed guy. He ended up not hooking up the fire alarms, and there is a tenant in there! I am kind of at risk so obviously I need to get those hooked up. My question is, are there any laws or anything that I should know about when picking someone to install the fire alarm (Florida). For example if there was a fire, and the alarm misfunctioned and someone got hurt, would I get sued because the person was not licensed or insured with a certain type of accreditation type stuff...
