Laminate Floors in Palm Springs area

My dad has a condo in the Palm Springs/Palm Desert area that we rent out seasonally however after this season we are looking to rent it out long term. 

We need to get rid of the carpet in the Living Room/Dining Room area and don't want carpet again. 

What is your best recommendation based on wear factor along with the high heat in the summer time?
