any know if submetering is the norm for chicago multi family?

looking to cut cost at my  2 flat In chicago, water is about $50 a month per unit per year. Anybody know if submetering is a regular thing out here. Don't want to lose my current or any future tenants

@Ramon Moreno maybe you can check to see if there's a possible unknown leak somewhere because water expenses so far for us is about $25 per month/unit with families in each one. Another problem could be if one of your tenants likes to keep the water running. One of the young ladies I know used to have her sinks and tub water running long before she was getting ready to use it. I had to bring to her attention that her landlord was probably paying a high water bill and that's when she said to me that her landlord was complaining about the high bill but she didn't realize the issue she had until I brought it to her attention.
