My dear section 8 landlords, i am faced with a very interesting problem. My agent who is getting a section 8 tenant for me is not willing to release any information about that prospective tenant besides her name.

am i entitled to know her age, income, family composition, copies of her criminal record  and a credit score?

thank you all for your input

Hi Eli,

What's the reasoning behind withholding the info?  Unless you waived all your veto rights in the management agreement, you should be able to review applicants.  After all, you're the one putting up the asset.  Would you give over $100,000 to someone if all you knew was their name? Absolutely not. Then, why would you do the same for a tenant?
