Property Management Gouging on Maintenance/Replacement
AC condenser went out in a unit I closed on this month...
Property management co submitted bid to do the replacement for $5k in-house (for condenser and evaporator coil to bring up to 410A from R-22). They disclose they may profit from these things, but I was blown away by the number. Luckily I had just done such a replacement myself on another unit late last year. Called that vendor and quoted $2800.
Anyone else have this type of experience. I knew they'd have a margin for themselves on things of this nature, but this was much more than I expected!
