Tenant requesting more time after 30 days termination notice

I have a tenant supposed to be out on August 17th and says he needs until the end of the month. Opinions? I want him out but is it worth the trouble? I just took over the place so still sorting everything out. How do rent work when they're expected to be out on an odd day? Thank you!
