moving the tennant out

I have a tennant  that has been habitually late since the lease inception in staten island nyc a liberal city. I have let him get away with it. He bounced a check in June and didn't pay July. Now he sends me a letter that he has signed up with an temporary assistance program ( no mention of the program) that will send us a check on his behalf that helps pay the rent. If only they are approved will I get the check. I just got this email at 8:39 am for the tennant this morning after I told him he needs to move until the end of July. He owes 2 months rent of which one check bounced of 3600 plus bank fees and $400 water bill.  And August is around the corner.  I told him to move out by the end of July so he won't accrue additional rent.

From the tennant....

We will try our best to make this a fast process, but we all know the time and financial obligation to move. If you  would be willing to return our security deposit this would make it a much easier task. I know thats asking a lot of you being the circumstance of us owing you 2 rents as it is.

As I mentioned we will try our best to find a place and move as soon as possible, but it's not only me I have to consider I have a family to worry about as well.

Thank You, Jay
