Will landlord be fined if tenant violate city code

I have a tenant living in our storefront. It is a commercial space. But he lives there. And he did not have a business license. The city allows business work/live property. However, the tenant has to apply for the permit not the landlord. We advertised our place as work/live property when renting to the tenant. And we had a commercial lease.

Now I am about to evict him as the lease was up. But I am afraid he might call city inspector. My questions is if I would be fined because he did not get the permit and the business license.
