South Daytona Rental City Inspections
So the story is that my uncle who owns few rental properties in South Daytona, is telling me that the city has very strict rules for landlords. You have to have yearly inspections, which the cost isnt that importtant, but what they write you for is. We are talking about every little thing. From blinds and bath tubs, to demoing unpermitted florida rooms etc. And they dont allow you to do the work yourself but they want you to hire a contractor even for simple things and pull permits.
I know the law says that you have to provide livable and decent environment for your tenants but how can they impose so strict rules?
The thing is I want to invest in the area because or the ROI some properties offer but I dont want to feel I'm hunted and an investment could become a money pit.
Anyone has experience with these issues?
