touch pad lock for building front door

I'm renovating a three family house.  All units will be rented.  There is a common front door.

Instead of putting a keyed lock on this, I'm thinking about putting an electronic touch pad lock.  I can see some pros and cons with this.  I'm wondering if anyone else here has done this, and how it's worked out.

Pros:

Each tenant will have their own code.  When a tenant leaves, their code gets changed, and they can't get back in (easily.)  This can be done without rekeying the door, and having to distribute keys.  The same thing can be done for building workers.

Cons:

Battery powered.  Battery will have to be changed occasionally.  There will be a near side super who can do this.

May be more likely to fail than standard lock.

If this turns out not to work well, I can easily replace the lock with a standard keyed knob.
