Replacing cealing lights

I'm just wondering if it is worth replacing the kitchen light on my rental property. I currently have them old long florescent lights. I am wanting to install 6 Can lights. I think it would look a lot more modern. Its a rental home and I don't know if it is cost effective, or worth doing. I will apreciate any advice thanks
