Paying for a home warranty Deductable on a rental house

I am trying to rent a home and the landlord wants me to pay for the deductable on the home warranty if anything happens to anything. first off the house is 8 years old and so are the appliances before I move in and the last tenants looked like they didn’t take care of much and if something goes out in the first few months and I have had nothing to do with it why should I need to pay for the repairs? the cost of the appliances and the a/c and heat repairs should have already been added in the price of the rent.
