eviction and collecting on a judgment.

Hi BP,

I got this email from property manager:

" The attorney has an option where you can pay a $80 skip trace fee and then nothing additional until they are able to collect, at which point they take 33% of what they collect. This is obviously not ideal, however it limits additional costs to you and obviously give the attorney a true incentive to collect the debt. Let me know your thoughts on this as well please."

My tenant was evicted about 5 months ago in the state of Indiana.  I got a judgment award for losses of over $4000.   I have not collected a single penny yet.   I get this email from my property manager with very little details.(Is this a good way to collect?  what is the success rate?  Are there any other methods to collect?)

Any thoughts or experiences?

My experience on collections is that my time is better spent elsewhere making money.  If you can get a collection agency that will do it for a percentage and actually do it great.  Many do not get anything.
