Inherited Tenant with Renovations to come

Hello Everyone,

I purchased a duplex in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and inherited a tenant in one of the units. I will be renovating the kitchen in the unit that is currently occupied by the tenant. Does anyone know of any creative ways to keep the tenant in place while causing minimal disruption? The tenant has been in place for 5 years and has never missed a payment and overall seems like a good tenant from what I've noticed and gathered from the previous owner.

I've offered the tenant one free month with no rent payments for the inconvenience. The tenant was definitely on board with this. Any suggestions or concerns I should be aware of?

Thanks,

Joseph Lane
