best sink to buy for rentals
Hi,
I have to replace a double acrylic white kitchen sink and I don't know its age but its white and very scratched/dirty looking. Is stainless the better option? It does not cost much more. The white looks great when it is clean but I don't think it stays like that. Just wondering what everyone chooses for longevity/durability etc.
Thanks!

Without question, go with a stainless steel sink....SELF rimming (not with the separate trim ring) and be sure to caulk it well, all the way around to prevent water to seep back under the edge and delaminate (or rot) the cut edge of the countertop. Also, from a practical standpoint, do NOT get a 5 or 6 inch deep model...get a seven or eight inch. Don't go cheap on the basket strainer and waste line either, use metal! Same for the faucet, don't use a cheap model with a plastic body...get a mid range moen or pfister single handle NO Sprayer. Lastly, be sure to look closely at the cast iron nipple coming out of the wall. If it is badly corroded the threads may not seal...change the nipple-CAREFULLY, but with a new galvanized piece. It's not a bad idea to snake the line while you have everything apart too.
