Last months rent - michigan

My tenant just entered the last month of their lease. I've been in a little bit of a battle with them recently (see my other post) but got a message this morning saying they are paying the last month with their security deposit.

I fear there could be damage/repairs when they move out.

Are they allowed to pay last months rent? What should be my action?

On a side comment.. Is there a search feature on the forums? I didn't see one and I feel like this could be a common question.

I would send them a 7 day notice right away and let them know that you will file court papers at the end of the 7 days. tell them that if it goes that far, it will go on their record for all future landlords to see.

This is why I always get 1.5 months rent for a security deposit (the max you can charge in Michigan).
