Bad Credit Tenant

Do any of y'all in the Houston area rent to tenants with bad credit? I am a Realtor working with a client who has been living in an extended stay motel for the last 2 years because he has bad credit and unable to find a place that does not require good credit. He has a wife and small child, looking for 2 bedrooms on the southeast side of Houston, possibly Clear Lake or Texas City area. Any suggestions on how I can help find him a place to live?

You may want to provide more details here. What is making his credit "bad"? Do you know his score? Is he employed, and if so, for how long? Has he ever been evicted? How much rent can he afford (most landlords will want to see someone who earns 3 to 3.5 times the rent). Is there a co-signer who will vouch for him?
