Removing utilities from my name

I have gotten myself into a bad situation: utilities are still in my name months after tenants moved in.

I do understand the error and how to avoid it in the future: please don't tell me what i should have done in the replys: need to focus on what can be done now.

Lease says tenant must put utilities in thier name. They have been unable to transfer because of past unpaid bills. They have been reimbursing me for utilities in my name.

Am I allowed (legally) to remove the utilities from my name?

That would force thier hand at getting them in thier name/have utilities turned off.
