Landlord Best Practices When Renting House Next To Me

Mark Ugarte
Posted

I have just bought my neighbors house and am renting out our old house next door. I’ve tried searching for people who have been neighbors to their tenant but haven’t seen anything yet.

If you have experience in this I’d love to hear how you handled the relationship of tenant/neighbor.

I'll do you one better. I have a house hack where I live on one side of a house and my tenant lives on the other side without sharing any spaces. It is pretty much like any other tenant. Do not treat them any softer or harder because they're you're neighbor. Remember, this is business.
