Memphis TN section 8

Hi, I need some advice on the Memphis market for section 8. I would love to build a portfolio, if anyone can guide me to which pockets are the best for rental and brrr method in Memphis would be a great help since I'm not local to memphis.

Hey Mani,

I don’t have firsthand experience with the Memphis market, but I do invest heavily in Detroit and have done well with Section 8 properties there. One of the keys I've found is focusing on neighborhoods that are on the upswing—places with signs of revitalization where you can still get affordable properties.

In Memphis, I'd imagine a similar strategy would work. Look for those "C+" neighborhoods where there's potential for growth, but be careful of areas that might be too rough, as that can make property management tough.

Also, consider connecting with local investor groups or meetups in Memphis to get a more targeted understanding of the market.

Good luck! Section 8 can definitely be a solid strategy if approached with the right mindset.
