Homeowner or land lord insurance

Gulshan D.
Posted

Hello,

I am closing on property and my lender is requesting a homeowner insurance quote before they can get the final approval. Do I need home owners or land lord insurance? I plan to completely rent out the property. Any input is highly appreciated. Thanks!

Homeowner insurance is for when you occupy the property. Landlord insurance is for when renters occupy the property. You need Landlord insurance.

Explain to the insurance provider how you intend to use the property. They will get you the right coverage.
