CIPP Pipe Relining - what are you paying?
Hi all,
We have a multifamily complex from the 1970s with a cast iron sewer line running under each building.
One of the lines is corroded and we unfortunately just confirmed it is leaking. We expected that at some point, cast iron pipes of this age would simply need to be replaced or relined - but since there is also confirmed leakage, we would like to do this sooner rather than later.
We would like to opt for the less-invasive CIPP re-lining.
We have received quotes from 3 different plumbers, all for upwards of $35-45k to reline 70 feet with 16 reinstatements. The reinstatements seem to be a big cost driver. The access would be from outside of the building, so at least we don't need to plan with interior damage.
This seems hefty to us, but we can't find any additional plumbers in our area who provide this service. I couldn't find any recent discussions on this on BP and wanted to check whether you all have had this done, what you paid (and how many feet, how many lateral lines / reinstatements, if possible).
Thank you for your insights!
