Can I charge prorated rent if tenant move out after the end of lease term.

My tenant texted me two weeks ago stating that she couldn't afford the rent and wants to move out. But won't answer my call nor my text message when I asked her the move-out date. Her rent is due the first of every month, and late penalty will be on the 6t. Now she said she will be moving out by the 6th of next month, which is next weekend. In this case, can I prorated her rent for the first 5 days?

We are in SC.

I rent by the month not by the day.  If he's not gone by the end of his term, he pays another month. This should be in your lease. Any changes must be in writing.
