Tenant took off Smoke Detectors
I visited the property and found the hard wired Smoke Detectors in the living room and hallway were removed ( the ines in the bedrooms were still there ) . I asked the tenant why they did that and he said that the smoke detectors in the living room and hallway went off when there was smoke coming from the kitchen.
What are my options and what can I do to make them put them back ? they are refusing to do so.

If you don’t want them there and you’re willing to have the vacancy. I ASSUME this is a safety violation and you send out a notice to cure the problem or face eviction.
Because you have to give notice every time you go to enter the property I ASSUME they will be taken back down the minute you leave the property. But, you are covering yourself if there’s a fire and they don’t go off.
