What can I do to get my rent back?
Hello everyone,
i have an issue. For the past 2 years, my wife and I have had a family friend renting a room in my house. He was writing the check to both my wife & I but recently he has only been writing the check to my wife.
I am the homeowner, my wife's name is nowhere on the house title, yet when I brought this up to my tenant, he said he's renting from my wife, not me.
There is no rental agreement in writing between myself and him. But this is his legal address.
what legal action can I take to either
a)g et him to write the check in my name and give to me
b) get him out of here.
he is an elderly man, and my wife is his caretaker.
any advice would be greatly appreciated!
