Bad credit reports for Landlords checking possible tenants...
Trans Union failed to take steps to ensure the rental background checks that landlords use to decide who gets housing were accurate. The company also withheld, from renters, the names of third parties that were providing the inaccurate information.

$15 million and $8 million fines I doubt they would enforce on a landlord but be careful about how you handle vetting tenants. It is vital you follow Fair housing laws. If you need to know where you can get into trouble, or have a specific question- please feel free to ask. You as a landlord are required to be fair and even to everyone no matter what you feel.

The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in housing because of:

  • Race
  • Color
  • National Origin
  • Religion
  • Sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation)
  • Familial Status
  • Disability....  and other "classes"

For more info read here the HUD site:

FYI assume that there are some accounts on BP that actually are CFBP and SEC... came across it.

Oh no Mr. Bill for those of you who remember him
