Denver requiring rental licenses

Hello BP members, I was just looking into Denver's new licensing requirements for landlords. Which can be found here: https://www.denvergov.org/Government/Agencies-Departments-Of...

Do any other states have these licensing requirements? What are your thoughts on this $25 fee per single family home (which appears will go up to $50 in 2024) to register and requiring a home inspection.

I went through the process to get my MF buildings in Denver licensed last year. It wasn't bad, just had to have one unit in each building inspected. The inspector had me change a few really easy things and send him a picture of the repairs later the same day before signing off for me. Cost was under $200. I've got one more SFR I'll need to get licensed before the 2024 deadline.

Russell is correct, many cities require rental licenses. Boulder has had a rental license program for a long time already. I haven't found the process to be overly annoying or anything in either Boulder or Denver.
