is houston a good place to start out of state rental property investment?

Hi, Im from Los Angeles Ca. I Want to start a rental property investment but properties here in California is really expensive. Im thinking of starting my first rental property out of state and im looking at houston or austin or any potential properties in texas. I have no experience and Im still in the learning process. is it a good Idea to start my first out of state rental in texas?

    I'm in Houston and have SFR. The only reason I chose this market is because I live here. Property taxes are extremely high. If I didn't live here I would choose a more profitable market. I know investors in Austin and they have been complaining about the market recently there. I think the sweet spot there might have passed.
