Flooring Vinyl plank rubber back vs. Cork, also Green/aqua carpet in Bedroom

Hello all,

We are doing a semi-renovation at an apartment and redid all the flooring.  Its a 2nd fl 2 br loft next to a busy local highway.

I was going to put in vinyl plank flooring in the living room, hallway, and loft.  A company told me about cork backed vinyl plank vs, the rubber backing I have seen in most other cases.  The salesperson said the cork would help the floor breathe since it is concrete below.
I asked other floor co's and no one was really pro-cork(but they may not sell it).  One was worried if water was spilled would the cork absorb it and start to smell after a few years?  Does anyone have cork backing Vinyl plank?  Any good or bad stories?

Also in the bedrooms we are painting with greige to have a little variety.  I was thinking of putting in a green/aqua blue carpet to go with the grey as I thought it would be soothing.  The flooring people had said green/aqua carpet was an unusual request.

I don't know if I should press on with that carpet in the bedrooms or make all the floors vinyl plank and just get some area green rugs to try it out if the prospective tenants like it?

Any thoughts BP peeps?

Thank you
