PM large expenses without approval of owner

Hey BP fam,

I'd get some advices from you regarding my current situation. I'm an investor owns rentals in ATL, recently one of the property had a water leak, damaged the interior ceiling of the first floor. The PM told me the cost of fix and redemption was about $2000, and approved the fix. A few days ago, aside from the receipts of $2000 that I was informed, I got one more invoice of $4800 for the redemption, mold prevention, etc. That was totally a surprise and I was never informed about this. I asked the PM but they refused to discuss about this, the whole thing is super fishy and I'm leaning toward not going to pay this at all. I"m wondering has anyone being through similar situation and what could be done here, thanks for your comment. I'm definitely going to change to new PM.

Thanks,

J
