out of state guarantors

Has anyone ever accepted a parent who wants to pay the rent for their son who is attending school out of state?  A mother has reached out and wants to rent out our place, her son attends school in my state WI and she lives out of state but stated she would be paying the rent.  I will of course screen all tenants over the age of 18 which is son and two other roommates...just wanted to see if  anyone has had any experience with something similar. Thank you in advance :)
