best thermostat to buy

I am interested in buying a regulating thermostat for my rental properties. I've heard of thermostats that only allow temperatures within a certain range or that have useful Wi-Fi components for managing utility usage. Maybe there is already information about this, but I didn't see a way to search the forums.
