Home Insurance for multifamily
Hi,
I have a multifamily home which I am in the process of moving out of because i purchased a single family home.
I've been inquiring about how my insurance policy would change. I am told I would need a landlord policy for my multifamily.
I've been inquiring about the change with my current insurance and it seems like my insurance will triple in cost.
Anyone have the same experience or any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

When you lived in the property your insurance should have covered your personal items (TVs, furniture, etc) A landlord policy covers the structure and not the personal effects inside. As a result, insurance for a rent property is typically less than if you were an owner-occupant.
